There are so many amazing and incredible features and strategies on LinkedIn, it was hard to pick just 3.
But after conducting a market research poll of 200 people, 87% admitted that they are not taking full advantage of what LinkedIn has to offer us.
Here are the 3 Features/Strategies that will help you and your business grow in 2023:
1. Creator Mode:
I have spoken about this before, but it seems to be a topic that needs to discuss further.
LinkedIn Creator Mode, when turned on, allows you to access three amazing “creator tools”, which I am going to talk about today and the benefit of each:
- LinkedIn Live Video:
In the beginning, it may be very uncomfortable and out of your comfort zone. But I promise you this, the more often that you lead into that fear of showing up on camera, the more connection and rapport you will build with your audience over time.
The great thing about using a third-party streaming tool, such as Streamyard or Re-stream, is that you have the potential to not only go live on LinkedIn, but you can actually multi-stream across other platforms as well.
When I typically go live on LinkedIn, I am also streaming to my Facebook personal page, my Facebook business page, three Facebook groups, and my YouTube channel. All with the click of a button.
I am a big believer in working smarter and not having to work harder. One of the huge benefits of streaming your live to Linkedin from a third-party streaming application is you can then download that video, use it for a podcast episode if you have one, or even upload that video through Otter.AI to transcribe it into written form, to create a long forum post or even blog article.
There have been many studies done, but also a ton of articles written on the power of doing live video over doing “native “or pre-recorded video to build trust and rapport with your network.
The live video ends up being a much more intimate and personal way of providing value-added content, education, and information to those with whom you are connected. This in turn will build trust, rapport, and meaningful connection with your network much quicker.
- LinkedIn Newsletters:
A LinkedIn Newsletter is something every business owner should and needs to have right now. LinkedIn sends out an invitation automatically to your contacts to subscribe. This allows you to build an organic audience right away.
My newsletter has 6800 subscribers in only a few months…..Take advantage of it. LinkedIn also emails your subscribers personally when you produce a new edition. We always talk about visibility and organic reach, and this, my friends, is the optimal way to do it.
Now that LinkedIn allows you to publish a newsletter and simultaneously have it pushed out to those who have subscribed, it makes it an absolute game-changer. LinkedIn Newsletters also allow you to build trust and rapport daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Your frequency will determine how quickly you can build the “know, like, and trust” factor with your audience. My recommendation is to publish weekly or bi-weekly to stay top of mind.
When you are consistent with your long-form Newsletter content, it will add to your credibility. We are all looking for ways to build our credibility. A fantastic way to do so is to have a reputable newsletter that educates and informs your growing audience.
- LinkedIn Audio Rooms:
It’s not that LinkedIn is always “one step ahead.” They do a wonderful job of seeing what is created, what is working, and how they can implement it to work even better on LinkedIn.
“LinkedIn Audio Rooms” is a prime example of this. Now just remember, it is being slowly rolled out, so if you don’t have access to it yet ( I don’t yet either ), have no fear, as it will be made available to us all soon!
If you are on LinkedIn to build connections, rapport, trust, and meaningful relationships, this new feature is absolutely for you.
“With the pandemic still disrupting live events, and forcing businesses and industry groups to seek alternative means of networking and community connection, LinkedIn has seen a big rise in live events hosted on its platform, with the creation of Live Events in the app increased by 150%, year-over-year.”
– Social Media Today
The other thing I love is that you can join the host either as a guest speaker or type in the comments during the live stream on the mobile app or desktop.
“First off LinkedIn’s launching an initial test of its own, Clubhouse-like audio events platform, which will enable users to tune into live discussions in the app, and participate by raising their virtual hand to join as a speaker, or posting likes in response to the chat.
LinkedIn has been developing its live audio tools since March last year, at the peak of the Clubhouse hype cycle, and while it has taken some time for the platform to develop its own option, it could still serve a valuable purpose within the LinkedIn environment, providing more capacity for professional connection within industry-aligned meetings and discussions”.
– Social Media Today
In addition to that, LinkedIn will make sure they push the most relevant and thought-provoking conversations to each user on the platform.
“We have the professional context to recommend the most relevant events that can help you learn, network, and be successful, and we’re investing more in surfacing these events to you. Whether an event by a creator or page you follow or a topic you’re passionate about, we will surface the events that will help you reach your career goals.” – LinkedIn
2. LinkedIn Company Pages:
There are several advantages to having a LinkedIn company page, including increased visibility. A LinkedIn company page can help increase your company’s visibility on the platform. This can help you attract potential customers, employees, and business partners.
A company page on LinkedIn is an excellent opportunity to showcase your brand and what your company stands for. You can use it to share company news, events, and updates that will help you build brand awareness and strengthen your reputation.
If you are looking to expand your company via employee growth, a LinkedIn company page can be a powerful tool for recruiting top talent. You can post job openings, showcase your company culture, and engage with potential candidates through LinkedIn’s messaging feature.
LinkedIn is a powerful networking platform, and a company page can help you connect with other businesses, industry influencers, and potential partners.
Numbers never lie, and LinkedIn provides analytics tools that allow you to track the performance of your company page, including metrics such as views, engagement, and follower demographics. This information can help you refine your content strategy and improve your results over time.
Overall, having a LinkedIn company page can be a valuable asset for any business looking to establish a strong presence on the platform and leverage it for business growth.
3. Push Notification Messages/Content Engaging:
LinkedIn has made it even easier to stay connected to our current connections with the “Bulk Notifications Feature”.
This new feature is a great way to stay in touch with your connections daily and even turn those connections into clients.
To find this feature, go to the notification section on LinkedIn, click on a notification from one of your connections that is having a work anniversary or promotion, and you will see something that looks like this:
When you click on the section that says, “view more job changes…”, it takes you to a page that looks like this where you can mass message without having to scroll anywhere:
What is great about this feature, is that it allows you to stay connected to your connections a week at a time. Now you don’t have to worry about forgetting someone’s birthday, work anniversary, or job promotion.
Also, if a response comes in, the door of opportunity is opened for you to continue to nurture the relationship of your connection. That is why I always tell people on LinkedIn, “No connection is ever dead.” This new feature allows you to further your connections and relationships with ease.
As you build your network, the numbers are in your favor, with the ability to send these genuine, authentic, and auto-generated messages from LinkedIn. This will save you time, and energy, and have to spend too much time on the platform.
One of the best ways to start getting immediate and organic traffic to your content is by tagging three known allies or friends in the first comment of your post.
You only have to do this 1x per week, and it proves to be very effective for a few reasons. First, you are only tagging 3 people, not 3,000 as some people tend to do on LinkedIn.
Second, you are tagging known individuals who know, like, and trust you, plus you are tagging people who would truly resonate with the piece of content that you just posted. You never want to tag people that you know would not relate to your content.
Which of the three are you going to take full advantage of?
